Journalism

OK, here’s the scoop. The Young Writer’s Camp will again offer students the opportunity to learn how to conduct investigative reporting. Billy Witz, who has won national newspaper awards for sports features, game stories and investigative reporting, will take students through the art of interviewing, encourage their powers of observation, and nourish their creativity as they learn the fundamentals of writing. Students will snoop around for interesting stories and learn how to put them into print. Students will attain writing and reporting skills that translate to any school newspaper.

Billy Witz is a freelance writer for the New York Times living in Long Beach.
